Against a backdrop of growing security challenges, the expansion of criminal networks and the need to bridge gaps in the country’s rural areas, the Acordemos Foundation and El Espectador recognised the urgent need to place the issue of territorial integration back at the heart of the public debate in Colombia. To this end, a pluralistic and diverse gathering of approximately 60 leaders—governors, mayors, former ministers, community leaders, businesspeople, academics, former public officials and church representatives—was convened to discuss concrete solutions around a single table in Honda, Tolima, a geographical crossroads of the country.
