Our
Work
Fundación Acordemos works from the expertise and knowledge built during the peace negotiations in Colombia (2010-2016) and the implementation process of the Final Agreement, with the purpose of training and advising others in their negotiation and peacebuilding processes.
Acordemos aspires to be both global and local: it aims to consolidate a world-class training center, outside Europe and North America, for the design of negotiations and peace processes, and at the same time contribute to the never-ending process of peace building in Colombia, always invoking the spirit of what has been agreed and adapting it to new realities.
Lessons
learned
Lessons
learned
This program systematically gathers and organizes the multiple lessons learned from the negotiation and peace-building process in Colombia on all fronts - process design, negotiation methodology, inclusion mechanisms, participation of military forces, justice and peace, gender approach, ethnic chapter, international participation, monitoring and verification, reincorporation, etc. - based on a solid methodology and a comparative perspective.
Territorial Peace
Territorial Peace
Our commitment is to recover the vision of “territorial peace” contained in the Final Agreement and to work with the communities in the territory in the promotion of the Final Agreement and the joint building of peace, especially in the framework of the technical secretariat of the “National Confluence of Community Leaders for Peace”.
Acordemos seeks to contribute to the consolidation of territorial peace in Colombia through the transformation of local conditions and capacities for advocacy, participation, dialogue and reconciliation.
Advice to peace and negotiation processes in the world
Advice to peace and negotiation processes in the world
The Foundation promotes work aimed at directly advising negotiation processes in other parts of the world, especially within the framework of “South-South” cooperation, based on the knowledge acquired in Colombia.
Acordemos aspires to become a center of excellence in negotiation from Colombia to the world. Every peace process is different, but with good judgment many lessons learned, and innovative practices can be adapted to other contexts to contribute to the success of peace negotiations.
Support to the Final Agreement in Colombia
Support to the Final Agreement in Colombia
Acordemos seeks to contribute with concrete proposals to the fulfillment of the multiple commitments of the Final Agreement that have not yet been implemented and to contribute to the solution of today's challenges in the territories most affected in Colombia by the conflict.
We start from the premise that the 2016 Peace Agreement is an achievement of society and a roadmap for the country that must be preserved, summoning the effort and permanent commitment of the institutions, communities and multiple sectors of society.
