Territorial
Peace

Our commitment is to recover the vision of “territorial peace” contained in the Final Agreement and to work with the communities in the territory in the promotion of the Final Agreement and the joint construction of peace, especially in the framework of the technical secretariat of the “National Confluence of Community Leaders for Peace”.

From the territories

Acordemos seeks to promote a set of agendas, strategies, projects and actions that promote opportunities for the consolidation of territorial peace based on the transformation of local conditions and capacities for advocacy, participation, dialogue and reconciliation.

Regeneration and territorial management for peace

We seek to promote agreements and processes that contribute both to the construction of peace and to the preservation, restoration and management of the environment, contributing to mitigate the effects of the climate crisis by improving the socioeconomic and cultural conditions of those who inhabit these territories.

Community capacities for territorial transformation

We are committed to co-constructing and guaranteeing the appropriation of tools to qualify the participation and impact of leaders in the implementation of the Agreement and other institutional peace efforts, from a community vision and under a principle of co-responsibility in the construction of territorial peace.

Local processes of dialogue, memory and reconciliation

We promote the meeting of wills and the generation of conditions to facilitate local dialogues that give way to processes of reconciliation and coexistence that contribute to pave the way for the reconstruction of the territories and the trust of the communities in the State and in dialogue as the mechanism to overcome conflicts.

Listening and Recognition:

The Confluence wants to promote a platform of listening and permanent dialogue as a method to contribute to mutual understanding, to the construction of proposals and collective actions, and to the transformation of relationships for peace building. It will also promote the recognition of the voices of the territories, to ensure a dialogue without intermediation and the recognition of progress in peace building. It is a matter of “building on what has been built”.

Independence and Autonomy:

The Confluence does not belong to any political party or movement and respects the plurality of visions within it. Likewise, the Confluence is autonomous: it reserves the right to express its opinion on peacebuilding processes and demands respect for ongoing regional dynamics and processes.

Implementation of the Agreement:

The Confluence seeks to promote the effective implementation of the 2016 Peace Agreement. It will also promote the pedagogy of its contents, to make it widely known and contribute to the understanding of its integrality as a condition for coexistence and non-repetition.

Participation:

the cornerstone of the implementation of the Peace Agreement and of peace building in general is citizen participation. The Confluence will promote it in all its dimensions: qualified and constant dialogue with the authorities for the implementation of the Agreement; dialogue within the communities and society in general throughout the country; and participatory and linked oversight of the programs and projects for the implementation of the Agreement and the construction of peace.

Plurality and Horizontality:

The Confluence is open to all leaders and communities that wish to participate in it and will seek to ensure the greatest plurality of territories and communities, promoting approaches and “improbable dialogues” in their territories, to create joint visions around peace building in the regions. No leader, group or region will be subordinated to the others. The Confluence is a strictly horizontal network.

Focus on the victims:

The victims are at the center of the Peace Agreement and must also be at the center of its implementation in the territories. The Confluence in all its activities will ensure that they have a voice and that the collective dimension of the Peace Agreement is also recognized in relation to the reparation of communities and territories.

Gender equality:

the Confluence will promote the recognition of women as autonomous citizens, subjects of rights who, regardless of their marital status, family or community relationship, participate in equal conditions with respect to men in all spaces of discussion and decision, especially in the programs for the implementation of the Peace Agreement.

Ethnic leadership:

the Confluence will promote the understanding of the vision of the different ethnic peoples and the harmonious dialogue between all communities, hand in hand with the ethnic leadership in the territories.

Capacity Building:

the Confluence will seek to expand the different capacities that leaders and communities have developed in their territories, particularly in women’s processes and through the exchange of experiences and lessons learned by communities in peace building throughout the country.

Territorial peace:

the Confluence will promote the understanding of the territorial approach of the Peace Agreement. It will encourage exchanges and coordination of efforts within the communities and society in general, and dialogue and confidence building between them and the institutional leaders, based on the characteristics of each territory and seeking to recover their voice in the decisions that affect them. Territorial peace will be the guiding principle and objective of the Confluence.
