In Valledupar, together with 48 people (20 men, 28 women) – including community leaders from Magdalena, César, La Guajira, Putumayo, Arauca, Meta, Guaviare and Córdoba, as well as representatives from institutions and civil society – the Acordemos Foundation launched its strategy “A Living Agenda: the Peace Agreement in the Regions”, which aims to exchange views on the significance of the Final Peace Agreement and the urgency of its full implementation, to mark the 10th anniversary of its signing. This is the final four-year period of validity of Legislative Act 01 – which obliges public officials to fulfil the commitments of the Agreement in good faith. In light of this, community leaders highlighted the need to overcome the negative narratives that have accompanied the implementation, recognising that, alongside the mistakes made, there have also been significant advances that have helped sustain peace-building in the regions. The arrival of the new government in August 2026 – and the discussion of the 2026–2030 National Development Plan – marks a crucial juncture for the territorial peace agenda, which requires community leaders to speak with a unified, timely and coordinated voice both within and across regions. Against this backdrop, a call was made to seek channels of dialogue with the new government and to step up advocacy efforts.
This regional dialogue will continue to expand through the National Convergence of Community Leaders for Peace. It will reach Cali in August and San José del Guaviare in September.
