Honda Meetings. The territorial issue: an agenda.

Against a backdrop of growing security challenges, the expansion of criminal networks and the need to bridge gaps in the country’s rural areas, the Acordemos Foundation and El Espectador recognised the urgent need to place the issue of territorial integration back at the heart of the public debate in Colombia. Almost ten years after the signing of the 2016 Peace Agreement, and looking ahead to the first half of 2026—a pre-election year—it was imperative to take stock of progress made, recognise new challenges and propose concrete guidelines to enable the next government and Congress to advance the construction of territorial peace. To this end, a pluralistic and diverse gathering of approximately 60 leaders—governors, mayors, former ministers, community leaders, businesspeople, academics, former public officials and church representatives—was convened to discuss concrete solutions around a single table in Honda, Tolima, a geographical crossroads of the country.
