The innovative elements and lessons learned from this negotiation in terms of vision, design, rules, capacities, negotiation agenda and implementation of agreements, and the territorial community dynamics surrounding implementation, constitute an asset in the search for negotiated solutions to situations of conflict and violence in the world and in Colombia.
After the signing of the 2016 peace agreement, the Colombian experience has positioned itself as an international benchmark in terms of peace negotiations having managed to deactivate a confrontation of more than 50 years of duration with the largest guerrilla in the Western hemisphere at that time, being an effort in which national actors and the international community concurred to make it possible, successful in terms of deactivating a war apparatus and promising in terms of activating measures aimed at preventing violence from being reactivated.
Immersion visits to Colombia
Immersion exercises in different cities of the country that allow the exchange with experts and direct protagonists of the negotiation and deepen the understanding of the Colombian case.
Workshops for exchange and transfer of negotiation skills.
Design and implementation of spaces that seek to facilitate the exchange of negotiation experiences and transfer knowledge related to negotiations and implementation of peace agreements.
Participation in strategic initiatives related to peace negotiations
Deployment of a strategy of participation in public and reserved initiatives that allow the socialization of lessons learned from the Colombian case and the technical contribution to other negotiation scenarios.
Specialized advisory exercises
Construction and promotion of work and advocacy agendas with official or institutional actors that are leading negotiation or peacebuilding initiatives, as well as civil society actors that promote actions related to the implementation of peace agreements or peacebuilding.
